i just had my first pharmacology lecture. ok la. not bad. sebelum masuk medical life ni, tertanya-tanya, pharmacology tu apa ye? macam blur skit. tapi lepas my lecturer dah explain, baru la faham pharmaco tu apa.
Pharmacology asal dari perkataan greek PHARMAKON=science of drugs.
kalau nak senang ingat, pharmacology=pharmacy=drugs. yang saya belajar, pharmacology terbahagi kepada 2 iaitu PHARMACOKINETICS dan PHARMACODYNAMICS.
pharmacokinetics ni, more like what happen to the drugs after it enters your body. maksudnya, perjalanan drugs tu dari kita telan sampai la kita shishi..hehe
pharmacodynamics pula, more like what drugs do to our body. maksudnya, macam effect drugs tu kat kita.
bila kita consume drugs, mesti la ada effect kan? effect ni ada banyak.antaranya
side effect
adverse effect: side affect+unwanted affect. contoh: allergic reaction
therapeutic effect: desirable affect
toxic effect: kesan yang dapat bila melebihi therapeutic range.
some pharmaco terms
iatrogenic: adverse effect induced by treatment. maksudnya, kesan sampingan yang timbul selepas rawatan
idiosyncrasy: unpredictable responses to a drug
indication
contraindication:
means drug that cannot be given to patient
terbahagi kepada 2 iaitu
absolute and relative
absolute memang x boleh bagi langsung
relative means boleh bagi but at specific cautions
setiap doctor kena amalkan lima benda ni bila nak prescribe ubat (ingat lima perkara...sebelum lima perkara...hehe)

right TIME
right PATIENT
right ROUTE
